FREE MOBILE CLINICS IN RURAL & URBAN AREAS

There are many slum pockets in Mumbai where the medical needs are not fully met by BMC. There is a need for additional help by providing medical check-up and medicines for some of the basic ailments such as cold, viral fever, diarrhoea etc. Also in the rural areas in and around the district of Thane, there are many villages, which do not have the basic medical facilities.

Therefore, we have planned to operate free mobile clinics in the rural areas around Mumbai as well as in the slum areas in Mumbai. It will be operated by Rotary Club of Bombay Bayview exclusively under Wockhardt Foundation. Each medical van will be manned by a qualified doctor along with a driver-cum-compounder. Each van will visit the locality once a week on a pre-determined day of the week. The total operating cost per month of the said van will be approx. Rs. 55,000/- while the cost of each van will be Rs. 2,68,000/-.
